The Florida State Yo-Yo Contest starts at noon with the 1A-Freestyle Open (Prelims) division and culminates with the awards ceremony around 4PM. Check out the “SCHEDULE” page for complete details.

WHERE

The contest is taking place at Florida’s largest indoor park, DEZERLAND, located at 5250 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819. The contest will take place right outside The Pinball Palace attraction near Cinemark.

With more than 800,000 sq. ft. of attractions, Dezerland offers one of the largest Auto Museums in the world, valued at over $200 million, go karting, trampoline park, laser tag, virtual reality, arcade, axe throwing, mini-golf, bowling and more.

There is no admission fee for those looking to hang out, watch and cheer on their favorite yo-yo players.

Dezerland Park is a 20-35 minute drive from the Orlando International Airport, on the corner of International Drive and Oak Ridge Road. It’s just an 8-minute drive to Universal Studios Florida.
We’ve secured a discounted room rate for competitors, spectators and families at the hotel below for $129/night for Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7.

- If you try to add on an extra day other than the days noted above (Dec. 6-8), the link will not show the group rate. The system will only offer the rooms & the group rate for the dates noted. ATMs are available on-site. The contest info./merch. table will be able to process credit cards and accept Apple Pay, Venmo, Paypal and Zelle payments. Be prepared with cash for other purchases from Florida State Yo-Yo Contest vendors.

FAQs

Yes, but the top ranking Florida resident will be named the top Florida State Yo-Yo Champion in their division.
While you can compete in multiple divisions, you cannot combine a 1A or X Freestyle division with Sport Freestyle division. 1A and X Freestyle competitors can also not compete in the Beginner’s Luck Trick contest.
The registration fee for competing in both the 1A Freestyle Open and X-Freestyle Open Divisions is $60 for the combination.
All competitors must register and check-in day-of at the event in order to compete. Each competitor will receive a 2024 Florida State Yo-Yo Contest event yo-yo.
