DIVISIONS + RULES
1A FREESTYLE AND X FREESTYLE
The Freestyle Divisions are made up of two divisions: 1A Freestyle and X Freestyle.
1A Freestyle Division: Freestyle performances with one long-spinning string trick yo-yo. This division will have a prelim and final round with the top 10 scores advancing to the final.
X Freestyle Division: One division combined with all other styles of play: 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A. This division is a one-round final.
2A: Freestyle performances involve two looping yo-yos.
3A: Freestyle performances involve two long-spinning string trick yo-yos.
4A: Freestyle performances with one or more yo-yos where the string is not attached to the yo-yo(s).
5A: Freestyle performances with one or more yo-yos where the string is attached to a counterweight instead of the competitor’s finger.
SPORT FREESTYLE
The Sport Freestyle division features a one-round final with any style allowed (e.g., 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A). The 1-minute performances are all subjectively judged.
DOC LUCKY’S DUOS
Presented by Doc Lucky’s Yo-Yo Talk, teams of two players perform a two (2) minute routine together in this fun, outside-the-box one-round final.
BEGINNER’S LUCK TRICK CONTEST
The Beginner’s Luck Trick Contest is a fresh take on traditional Sport Ladder, and is open to anyone outside of 1A and X Freestyle division competitors.
